Trump’s delusions of the week – stock market, lack of basic science knowledge, imaginary helicopter rides, insulting medal of honor recipients, and more
It’s honestly become difficult keeping track of Trump’s cognitive decline and out-and-out lies, as he meanders off-script (driving his staff and legitimate conservatives crazy).
As you know, there was a huge dip in the stock market last week – which Trump blamed on “Kamala Chaos” while claiming credit for any stock market rises saying they are in anticipation of him returning to office. The market did rebound. Even Fox News said he can’t have it both ways. See Fox News host knocks Trump: ‘You either own the markets or you don’t’
Another day he went on a rant arguing that Harris wants to “abolish oil, coal and natural gas,” and he suggested people who use wind power can’t use their electronics when it’s not windy. In reality, the Biden/Harris administration has overseen a record boom in domestic oil production. And wind turbines are capable of storing power.
On climate change, Trump also admitted on Wednesday that he doesn’t know what “net zero” means, referring to “Kamala’s extreme high-cost energy policy known as net zero.” He went on to claim that Kamala Harris doesn’t know what it means either. (“net zero” refers to the point at which the amount of greenhouse gas being released into the atmosphere is equal to the amount being removed from the atmosphere).
There are some more interesting details in Trump flunks basic science yet again in speech insulting Harris’ intelligence.
Then there’s Trump’s crazy story about almost being in a helicopter crash with Willie Brown (who was never in a helicopter with Trump) and while it was going down supposedly Brown was telling him bad things about Kamala Harris. The whole episode so clearly indicates Trump’s loss of cognitive ability that it’s amazing he has any supporters left. There’s a great take on this story in Trump is either delusional or confused. He’s unfit for the White House either way.
Perhaps the saddest remarks from Trump were about Medal of Honor recipients, whom he demeaned as being “often injured or killed.” See the reaction in Daughter of Medal of Honor veteran reacts to Trump comments. Trump, who was a draft evader, has often demeaned people in the military.
There seems to be a movement under way amongst legitimate conservative Republicans to vote for Harris and then try to redeem the GOP for 2028 and beyond. Check out ‘Republicans for Harris’ Online Rally Attended by Over 70,000 People
